I buy used laptops (more or less exclusively Lenovo ThinkPads), flash them with coreboot with the Intel Management Engine neutered, and resell them at cost. The idea is to help privacy minded but less technologically inclined people (if such people exist) have access to hardware with open source firmware. To be honest, if you're worried about BIOS level attacks/supervision and you can't compile and flash coreboot yourself, you likely have far bigger privacy concerns to worry about... like owning a cell phone. On that note, sometimes I also sell phones on my eBay store. I have a habit of breaking the software on them for fun and then getting bored when I have to fix it.
